Here is a nice guide on ways to rip, mix, and burn PDFs. I've used Zamzar to convert documents. But it is more than that: even recently Zamzar has included conversion of youtube videos. Wonderful. Another tool I regularly use to create PDF files is Google Docs. You don't need to buy $400 Adobe Acrobat to create contracts or invoices in pdf formats.
